The Specifics

Leave at a Glance.

Casual Leave

8 days per year. For life's personal moments — errands, family, rest. Pro-rated from your joining month. Half-day and 1-hour short permission also available.

Sick Leave

8 days per year. Because health comes first. No certificate needed for 1–2 days. Pro-rated from your joining month.

Maternity Leave

26 weeks, fully paid. As guaranteed by Indian law. Your job, seniority, and salary are protected throughout.

Paternity Leave

5 days paid leave on the birth or adoption of your child. Because this moment matters for fathers too.

Public Holidays

All Tamil Nadu Government notified public holidays — typically 14 to 16 days per year. Final list shared every January.

Loss of Pay

If you ever exhaust your leave, LOP applies at a daily rate of your monthly gross divided by working days that month. Transparent, fair, no surprises.

A note on
Cycle Leave.

We introduced Cycle Leave because we believe menstrual health is not a personal problem to be hidden — it is a workplace reality to be respected.

Every female team member at Oxygen Bioinnovations gets 1 day off per month, no questions asked. No medical certificate. No awkward conversation. Just a simple message to say you need the day.

No colleague, manager, or anyone at this company is permitted to question, discourage, or comment on this leave. It is your right, and we mean that.

We are a science company. We believe in evidence. And the evidence is clear — supporting menstrual health improves wellbeing, productivity, and trust. This is not charity. It is good sense.

An honest note on where we are.

We will be upfront with you.

We are an early-stage startup. Our salaries are competitive for our stage — not comparable to large pharma companies yet. Earned Leave (EL / Privilege Leave) is not in our policy today — we will add it as we grow, and we will give you 30 days' notice when we do.

What we can offer right now that most companies cannot: direct access to the founder, real ownership of your work, your name on research outputs, and a front-row seat to building something from scratch.

Lab-based work requires on-site presence at TBI, Adhiyamaan College of Engineering.
